Call for Papers:

The Charleston Law Review of the Charleston School of Law invites submissions for its annual Supreme Court Preview volume.  Submissions are welcome addressing a case before the Court in its October 2012 term or addressing an aspect of the Court itself such as recent voting trends, case load, an analysis of a particular Justice, or any other topic related to the Supreme Court.  The deadline for submissions is August 1, 2012.  For questions, contact Morgan Peterson via email or via telephone at  (828) 284-0378.

What Do Public and Private Sanctions in Competition Policy Actually Achieve?

Numerous questions as to the effect and interplay of public and private sanctions have been raised by the current shake-up of the UK public enforcement framework accompanied by a consultation on private antitrust actions. The European Commission has also attempted to provide guidance for the quantification of harm in private antitrust actions.

The CCP’s 8th annual conference brings together experts from the USA, Australia and Europe to discuss these developments from an economic, legal and political-science perspective. The speakers will provide a framework for appraising at the effects and achievements of public and private sanctions in the UK and the EU. Topics include the current approach to cartel sanctions, leniency and the interplay of public and private enforcement. In addition, the conference seeks to stimulate the discussion about the on-going consultation on private antitrust enforcement in the UK.

Pluralism v. Harmonization: National Adjudication of International Crimes

The Editorial Board of the Akron Law Review will review articles submitted during the months of May, June, July, and August on all areas of law.

Submissions can be made through Expresso or by email to lawreview@uakron.edu.

Through the Summer Submission Program, the Akron Law Review will offer traditional and expedited review.  Traditional review is standard review during the summer months.  Authors choosing expedited review agree to accept an offer for publication.  In return, the Akron Law Review will promptly review your article, and respond within two weeks of your submission with an acceptance or rejection.
